Western Carolina Caskets

...a product of Asheville Trim Carpentry since 2014

Why Caskets?

A friend initially suggested I build caskets as a way to use my skills to honor loved ones in our church and denomination who have passed on. I haven't limited the caskets to just my church or denomination, but most of my caskets have been for people I knew and loved. A few have gone to strangers who liked the idea of a local craftsman building a casket for their loved one. For friends or strangers, the idea is the same: provide an affordable, hand-crafted, and locally made casket.

To make it all as simple as possible, I now make just one casket style. It is made from pine and hardwood plywood, with a lift-off, one-piece lid that is neatly pegged on both ends to close. The lid has an integrated cross. The handles are solid wood and securely fastened at four points along each side. The interior has a padded bottom and pillow that are both covered with satin. You can get the casket in a natural wood finish or stained to your preference.

All of my caskets are the proper dimensions to fit in a standard burial vault. Delivery of the casket is personally by me to the funeral home or mortuary of your choosing in W.N.C.

Every casket is $1,495.
